Over the years, there have been many articles written in the press (print and otherwise) that have challenged the Bible or the accuracy of the Bible. Sometimes questioning the audacity of Christian writers who choose to look at science in a way that limits its usefulness.
Science is a necessary tool in our world. The more we expect as a human being, the more we depend on science to help us understand how things work so we can get on with the next invention that in most cases are very good and necessary things.
However, there is that part of science that is really nothing more than “theory”, the same as the “Theory of Evolution” (1837) scientist whom we all know by the name of “Charles Darwin”. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution was just that, a “theory”. There was/is very little scientific proof that his theory actually held any water at all except for the fact that partial truths have been manufactured into whole truths to justify Darwin’s “theory”.
On the other hand, the Good Book has remained the same for eons, and is very dependable. This proves itself out when one does research on Archaeological discoveries in the Holy Land and the surrounding areas. Locations, cities, and artifacts, some mentioned in the Bible that had been dismissed years ago by Scholars, Scientists and Archaeologists have recently proved the existence of cities mentioned in the Bible, or found artifacts that have proved the Bible as being hard fact.
Well then you ask, why did it take so long for the city and artifacts to be found? Because of the additional years of blowing sand, erosion or soil additions, these cities and artifacts were much deeper in the soil than expected. As a matter fact, it was not unusual thousands of years ago to build “new” cities right on top of old ones or abandoned ones.
There are detractors on both sides. Christians especially have serious doubts about Darwin’s theory. Likewise there are many scientists who have decided that the Bible is a bunch of mumbo jumbo that has little accuracy to it. On the other hand there are many scientists who have decided that the Good Book is pretty darn accurate in its descriptions, places, time periods, name places and the like.
I prefer to place my trust in the Good Book. It’s more accurate than Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, and has never had to be corrected because of an error it has made, unlike the scientific community around the world.
That’s just another reason that it’s called the Good Book!
