Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one]. (2 Thessalonians 3:3 AMP)
The Lord is faithful. When a husband remains faithful to his wife in the complete sense of the word, his affections remain hers only, he protects her, he provides for her. God’s faithfulness is all of this and more. He loves us in a place in our hearts where we can find it at anytime and trust that love to always be warm and active in our lives. He’ll never leave us or forsake us. He will always be faithful.
He will strengthen us. We have to face situations that in the spirit world are contests or fights. These fights are spiritual and not against a family member or friend or whomever may seem at first to be the culprit. A Christian’s battle is always otherworldly. The Lord fortifies our hearts and has angels nearby for our battles. Prayer and trusting Him is our responsibility.
A firm foundation is where we are grounded. So God gives us the solid foundation we walk on, our floors, but he also gives us the foundation we rest in spiritually…Our knowledge of Him, of Scripture, of prayer, of His love. That’s a foundation to lean on and believe in.
Last, He’ll protect us from the evil one. This is all intertwined, all that He does. There are the angels nearby watching out for us. The Lord Himself is a barrier between us and Satan. He’s a Barrier and a Guard. With all this power and grace to live life we can trust Him to watch out for us and rest.
