The fun factor has skyrocketed in 2013 at Golf Mont Cascades.
The Gatineau Hills track invested in new green cutting machines, became a member of the Tee It Forward program, acquired the online www.golfscoring.net program and launched a stay-and-play package with the charming Wakefield Inn.
“Our Golf & Gastronomy offer with the Wakefield Inn includes two nights at the inn, one round of golf with power cart, one four-course table d’hôte dinner in the fine dining restaurant, one table d’hôte dinner in the Heron Room, two full country breakfasts, gratuities on the meals, use of the outdoor hot tub and swimming pool and a $25 spa credit per person,” said Kevin Osborne, general manager of Golf Mont Cascades. “It is priced from $188.50 per person and booking can be done by calling 819.459.3475 ex. 100 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
“The new green cutting machines we’ve brought in have resulted in our putting surfaces rolling better and quicker than ever before, while the Tee It Forward initiative has allowed players to enjoy their games even more.”
The Tee It Forward program involves signage postings that ask players how far they hit the ball from the tee. There are suggestions for which tee to hit from so golfers will have a greater chance of landing on the greens in regulation.
“The tees are designed to reflect each player’s abilities so they are able to better enjoy their games,” said Osborne.
The Golf Scoring system adds excitement to league events.
“Our league players have embraced the system,” Osborne said. “Each foursome has a member of a team on it, with total net scores being recorded in real time. Everyone gathers in our renovated dining area to watch the drama unfold as the last groups come in. It has made for a terrific social atmosphere, which is what leagues are all about.”
Along with the dining area being re-designed, Golf Mont Cascades also painted the roof of the landmark power cart storage barn in the course’s signature deep red and has added some gorgeous artistic accents to the layout.
“The gardening team maintains flowers on the course daily and an artist has made a portrait of the Golf Mont Cascades logo that was created with rocks at the base of No. 15, our signature hole.”
