# 14—A match to determine the Undisputed WWE Champion with Triple H as the guest referee: CM Punk vs. John Cena—Summer Slam 2011—Los Angeles, California
This bout came about after CM Punk defeated John Cena for the WWE Championship at the 2011 Money in the Bank pay per view and then left the WWE (however, Punk had resigned with WWE prior to the match but the storyline was he was not resigning). After Punk ‘left’ , a WWE Championship tournament took place with Rey Mysterio winning. Mysterio then lost the title to John Cena the same night. This lead to Punk coming to the ring with the WWE Championship he left with, thus giving WWE two champions. As for the actual match at Summer Slam, Punk defeated Cena via pin fall in just over 24 minutes in a highly entertaining match only to be attacked by the returning Kevin Nash afterwards. After the attack by Nash, Alberto Del Rio came to the ring and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Del Rio defeated Punk via pin fall. So overall, a great match with a number of twists (possibly too many).
