Take-Two Interactive, publisher of “Grand Theft Auto V,” has a high opinion of the game’s multiple protagonist model. According to a report by Game Informer on May 30, Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently stated that all publishers and developers will want to copy the idea of having switchable player characters from “GTA 5” in the future.
The next installment in the “Grand Theft Auto” series will feature three protagonists instead of one. Players will be able to switch between which character they are actively controlling on the fly and in real-time. The remaining two characters will be controlled by the game’s AI when not in the hands of a gamer. As such, they will still remain in the game and continue to lead their own lives.
“Grand Theft Auto V” releases this September on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. No word has been given as to whether the game will have a PC or next-gen console release on the Xbox One or PS4.
