Do you want to start your weekend off right? Summertime is a great time to hang out with friends, grab a drink, and listen to great entertainment. The Temperance House has got it locked up in style, and now they have gone non-smoking after five! The Temperance House recently announced that after 5pm they would be non-smoking in the tavern area. They will still have their Cigar lounge locate in the back room just past the bar to accommodate all their cigar and smoking friends.
Friday Summer Happy Hour just got even better with the Temperance House’s new look. They have added a free appetizer buffet and music to the Friday line up. All summer long the Temperance House has extended what was the traditional happy hour with drink and menu specials, to an all out grab your friends and plan to stay for the night. They start the night with a 5pm to 7pm free buffet bar. They theme each week with everything from a picnic of hotdogs and hamburgers, to mexican beach night, to appetizer night.
Each happy hour Friday also offers a drink of the week, $3 Sam Adams Boston Lager or Summer Ale with any menu purchase, dinner specials, ½ price appetizers, ½ beer and house wine. The acoustic music runs from 6pm to 8pm with a variety of great local musicians followed by live duos and trios from 8pm to midnight.
The Summer entertainment for Happy Hour 6-8 starts out with local legend and front man of Firecracker Betty Tommie Spirk on July 26th. John Monzo is there on August 1st, and Dyanne Hunter will be there on August 9th. August continues with Bob Sauler of Wired on August 16th, followed by Perry Wolfe on August 23rd, and finishing the month out on August 30th is Shawn Byrne.
The Temperance House also is a powerhouse of local entertainment. They are a no-cover charge bar and restaurant for their tavern entertainment. They have an Open Mic night on Tuesdays; Wednesdays are College night with $2 Yuengling. Friday night is the amazing happy hour with acoustic duos or trios, and Saturday nights are full band nights. They also have a banquet room that a few times a year will host concerts such as Jazz Celebration and Big Band by ticket only. They have full service catering facility, and the banquet room can hold a variety of parties for any event or special occasion. Their manager Laurie takes all types of party requests to help fill the needs to their clientele.
The tavern and restaurant have weekly dinner specials, including pasta and vegetarian as well as a drink of the week. They will also be bringing in different micro breweries and currently have Angry Orchard. They will be bringing in a “bar take over” with special local favorites as bartenders.
