Having played for the Tennessee Titans for two years, Matt Hasselbeck is no stranger to the world of country music. The new backup quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts embraced his country roots on Thursday night when he attended Tim McGraw’s Two Lanes of Freedom concert at Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville.
McGraw has been known to bring in local athletes to add something extra to his concerts. Hasselbeck joined the country superstar near the end of the show, tossing footballs into the audience. Still looking as talented as ever, Hasselbeck threw into the back pavilion seats with the excellent precision of an NFL quarterback.
This was not the first time Hasselbeck has made an appearance at McGraw’s show. Last summer, Hasselbeck joined two football-loving country stars, McGraw and Kenny Chesney, at the Brothers of the Sun concert in Nashville.
Chesney is scheduled to stop in Indianapolis during his No Shoes Nation Tour this summer. The Eli Young Band and Kasey Musgraves are set to join Chesney in Noblesville on June 13.
The sun-kissed country singer shares McGraw’s love for football. In fact, during the Brothers of the Sun show in Indianapolis last year, Chesney invited a child on stage to give him an autographed authentic Colts helmet. Will Hasselbeck or a teammate make an appearance? With Chesney’s track record, it is certainly a possibility.
