Celebrating its 13th anniversary, Great Lakes Fright Fest will be held again this weekend at Totem Pole Park in Petersburg, Mi. From May 31st to June 2nd, 2013 Great lakes Fright Fest will be celebrating the love and culture of haunted houses, while combining the need to help others with Haunters Against Hunger Haunted House.
Beginning on Friday, May 31st, haunters and their families will be arriving at their campsites, reuniting with friends and making new ones, and begin setting up the haunted house. individual haunters, with reserved space in the house, will be able to decorate and get their scare fest oriented rooms (with a PG 13 rating) ready for Saturday’s night opening. Throughout the weekend will be seminars, demonstrations, potluck, and for lunch on Saturday, chili will be provided by KK’s Keeper and KKrayz KKaren’s. There will be an art gallery featuring John Dunivant of Theater Bizarre fame and Ginny Howard.
Just before the Haunted House is opened for business, there will be a potluck diner provided by attendees at the Great Lakes Fright Fest, then a mega fog-off where participants will show off their skills and there fog machines. raffles and door prizes will be given out, but don’t worry, everyone is lucky and will receive a door prize.
Saturday night, the fun will continue when the Haunters Against Hunger Haunted House officially opens for free provided by a donation of can pet food which will go the animals at the Monroe County Humane Society, and can food which will go to St. Anne’s Parish Food Bank. T-shirts will be sold to offset the actual cost of the haunted house, so please continue to show your support and purchase one. Throughout the haunted house, attendees will be asked to judge their favorite haunted room in which the awards will be announced the following day on Sunday, followed by a show and tell.
Great Lakes Fright Fest will be held at Totem Pole Park in Petersburg, Mi. The price for the Fright Fest is free provided a donation from a list of needed items, however, because this is a campground, there will be a fee for staying at a campsite. Attendees at the GLFF so not have to stay at the campground, there is a $3,50 admission fee and motels located within 15 minutes of the campground.
