‘Hiring our Heroes’ is a two-year program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation that helps veterans and military spouses find employment in their areas that has a vast network of “state and local chambers and other strategic partners”.
Their goal is to create a national movement that makes a lot sense to a lot of people. Not only is it a patriotic thing to do but also veterans’ possess great skills. Things like knowing how to work with others, managing people and materials, acclimating to ever-changing environments and intense pressures along with knowing how to show up on time are just a few incredible skills these men and women have.

A multi-year described initiative was put together to work with businesses for them to commit to hiring 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014 and they already have over 210,000 businesses pledged with 93,000 veterans and spouses confirmed hired.
Comcast and NBCUniversal are “key partners” with 1,000 hired in just this past year alone. Veterans and spouses are working in engineering, technology, operations, theme parks and resorts, programming, marketing, human resources, and customer service.
