Jack Pribaz, a very young child was born with a condition called KCNQ2. Due to ongoing research about the disease that most doctors don’t even know about, the Jack Pribaz Foundation was founded. It is entitled Jack’s Army.
In order to help further the research, the foundation holds fundraisers. Last year was the initial year of the Jack’s Army Golf Outing. This year they are repeating the event.
This year’s Jack’s Army 2nd Annual Golf Outing has been scheduled for Monday, July 15th. It will be held at the Klein Creek Golf Club located at 1N333 Pleasant Hill Road in Winfield, Illinois. The registration and lunch will take place from 10:30 until Noon. The shotgun start will begin at Noon sharp.
The event flyer provides all the details about the event. The Pribaz family would be so grateful for it to be posted in public locations so that as many people as possible are able to take part in the day’s festivities. The more, the merrier!
Thanks to the public’s generosity and support of this event, Jack’s doctors receive the funding they need to help them to discover a cure for the young boy’s rare condition entitled KCNQ2. Any person that has had to face the prospect of this gargantuan size realizes that the more help that is given, the more hope that the family, friends, and the individual suffering from the disease gets in order to keep up the good fight.
The public will also be grateful to know that all proceeds from the event will go to the research and awareness efforts by the foundation to help the doctors discover a cure to this rare condition. KCNQ2, as designated on the website, is a gene that is involved in the proper functioning of a potassium channel in the brain. Since Jack, and others, have mutations in the KCNQ2 gene, they have seizures. This condition is a type of epilepsy; conditions ranging from mild to severe. Researchers continue to discover more about these mutations. As data comes to light, it is released to the public.
This weekend, Jack’s very brave and forthcoming father was able to speak at the graduation ceremony for Wheaton North High School where he is a valued teacher. His attitude is always positive and he is a very important member of Jack’s Army. This father refuses to give up on his little soldier and is helping to lead the fight to help his child!
If you are a golfer, looking for another opportunity to get out on the greens, this event may just be what you are looking for. It gives you the opportunity to get out and enjoy yourself while helping a child that is fighting for his life. Please mark your calendars and sign up today!
