Jessica Simpson, age 32, singer, fashion designer, philanthropist and mentor of NBC’s “Fashion Star”, a fashion designer competition, has given birth to son, Ace Knute Johnson, on June 30, 2013.
Jessica Simpson was born in Abilene, Texas, on July 10, 1980. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, but more importantly in the music industry. Simpson’s journey began in a short-lived stint with Disney’s “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”. Her bus turned into a jet plane when she married her then-husband and multi-platinum recording artist Nick Lachey and MTV picked up their story, “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica”, in a reality show. Simpson’s divorce from Lachey did nothing to slow her down, as she was featured in the same year as “Daisy” in the film the “Dukes of Hazzard”, which made her an instant sex symbol. Simpson’s role and symbolic short-shorts, gave birth to the term, “Daisy Dukes”, referring to tiny shorts consisting of minimal fabric that showcases the lower curves of the derriere, also known as “moo moos”. The movie was so successful that it was made into a television series. Simpson rocketed to success with many hit songs and big screen appearances.
Simpson found her calling with the launch of her Jessica Simpson Collection line of hair, beauty, designer fragrances, apparel, shoes and handbag products for women. She has given back to society with her humanitarian contributions, as youth International Ambassador of Operation Smile and a USO tour to benefit the troops stationed overseas.
Most recently, as a mentor of NBC’s “Fashion Star”, Jessica Simpson has once again found herself front and center, in the spotlight.
In May 2010, Jessica Simpson teamed up with retired NFL tight end Eric Johnson and has since found herself in the midst of her life’s apex. They announced their engagement on November 2010 but have yet to seal the deal. Not for lack of good reason, they have been consummating their life-long ties that bind in other ways… the birth of not one but two children.
In May 2012, Simpson and Johnson gave birth to their daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson.
On December 25, 2012, after signing a $4 million Weight Watchers weight loss campaign deal to lose 70 pounds, Simpson confirmed that she was pregnant again. Needless to say, the pregnancy killed the deal.
On June 30, 2013, the couple gave birth to their son, Ace Knute Johnson, by way of cesarean section, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
Will Weight Watchers pick Simpson’s weight loss endorsement deal back up?
Now that two makes four, will the duo take time to officially get married before they make five or more?
Congratulations, Jessica and Eric … and welcome to the world, Ace!
