Joran van der Sloot: A Yahoo! News report from May 31, 2013 says convicted murderer, Joran van der Sloot, is getting married in Peru. The article states “Van der Sloot is planning nuptials with a Peruvian woman in the prison where he’s serving a 28-year sentence.”
According to Joran’s attorney, Maximo Altez, the couple are waiting for permission authorities for their wedding to take place within two weeks in Piedras Gordas prison. Altez declined to confirm the name of the bride, but its believed Leydi Figueroa Uceda, who has visited Van der Sloot often, is his future bride. Earlier info suggested Uceda had a child with Van der Sloot a son, but she has denies those rumors.
On Wednesday Altez sought a sentence reduction for Van der Sloot, “who pleaded guilty to the brutal 2010 murder of a young Lima woman he met in a casino.”
Joran van der Sloot, a native of Aruba, is still the chief suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway, the U.S. teen who went missing while vacationing in Aruba.
