The Nike 3ON3 Basketball Tournament presented by NBC 4 has grown to be one of the premier 3 on 3 basketball tournaments in the country. Tripling in size since its first year, the tournament draws in over 1,500 teams, 4,500 players, and 25,000 spectators to L.A. LIVE. Players try to get to the rim on nearly 100 outdoor basketball courts located right on the streets of downtown Los Angeles and L.A. LIVE.
To celebrate its fifth year, L.A. LIVE is hosting an interactive ‘Fan Fest’ that is loaded with over twenty interactive vendors along with tons of basketball activities to keep everybody in attendance entertained. In addition to the Josh Hutcherson Celebrity Basketball Game, the ‘Fan Fest’ as features the celebrated Nike Slam Dunk Contest, as well as the NBC4 Skills Challenge.
The best thing is, it doesn’t matter how old or how skilled you are—everybody has their shot to get on the court and play some hoop. The tournament features five main divisions: Adult Elite, Adult, High School, Youth, Special Olympics and Wheelchair. Adult, High School, and Youth divisions have two levels of competition—a recreational level for the people who just want to get out and play for fun, and a competitive level for those who want to show everybody who’s boss on the court. The Nike Elite Division will also have three categories for Women, Men’s 6 Foot and under, and Men’s Over 6 Foot.
Winners have their chance at cash prizes, Nike shopping sprees and merchandise, hotel stays at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE, tickets to events at STAPLES Center, Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE and StubHub Center, L.A. LIVE restaurant gift cards, Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE Stadium 14 movie tickets, passes to The GRAMMY Museum, tickets to upcoming concerts at L.A. LIVE and much more.
Teams can have up to four players, but no less than 3. Team registration starts at $140 for Youth and High School, $160 for Adult entries, and $200 for Elite teams.
