This season of Big Brother has been one of the most talked about seasons to date thanks to the racist, sexist, and homophobic comments done by many of the Big Brother houseguests.
One houseguest in particular, Aaryn Gries has been the most vocal with her use of the slurs and even after being told by other houseguests about it, has denied it and laughs about it as well.
She along with another houseguest, GinaMarie, have even lost their jobs due to their actions in the house.
Host Julie Chen is outraged over the comments that the houseguests are using and feels personally attacked by some of the things that Aaryn especially has said.
She mentioned her anger on an episode of her daytime talk show, The Talk.
Vierers all over America are sickened and disgusted by Aaryn and the things she has said and done and continues to do and many have even threatened to not watch the show anymore or to wish harm against Aaryn once she is out of the house.
Her mom has hired a PR person to help “fix” what Aaryn has done to herself while on the show.
Well, whenever Aaryn is evicted from the show, Julie will give America just what they have been wanting her to do, she will confront Aaryn about her actions, her slurs, and comments.
Julie has said this;
“Aaryn has no idea “what kind of — pardon my French — sh*t storm is coming.”
She will question her on her comments about asian houseguest Helen, and African American houseguest Candice as well.
She will let her know just what America thinks of her and inform her that she has given herself a very bad name.
Julie told San-Antonio Express News;
“The sad thing is no one intentionally says things to hurt people, for the most part anyway. No one intentionally tries to be the bad guy, There’s a big level of ignorance there. I need to shine a light on that a little bit, but not in a harsh way. In an eye-opening way, so she can say, ‘Wow, was I that hurtful to so many groups of people?’”
Julie is hoping that by what she tells Aaryn that maybe Aaryn will finally realize just what she has done, and hopefully want to fix it, though many of the viewers feel there is no hope.
Aaryn has been joking lately about the fact that people may think she is racist and she has also been telling houseguests that she feels that because of what Candice and lLissa say about her being racist, viewers will consider her one and she feels scared.
The thing is, America is watching her do and say these things and no one is making them think that but Aaryn herself.
Julie said this as well;
“It really is. It’s crazy; it’s our 15th cycle of the show. I’ve got to hand it to Aaryn, We’ve had people of all ages, from all parts of the country from all walks of life… Yet, we’ve never had someone who’s so in the dark about their intolerance for people who are not like them, That’s kind of shocking to me.”
Julie said she is going to try and handle Aaryn the right, professional way and not let her anger with her get in the way of trying to help Aaryn realize the seriousness of her actions and that she will have some serious consequences to deal with..
“Every week I struggle with: Is this going to be her week that she’s coming out? … I want to be fair and open-minded and want to be able to make her feel comfortable enough where she speaks the truth and doesn’t say what she feels she has to say to cover her butt.”
As many viewers have wondered before about why her family or friends have not stepped in to help their daughter’s life from being ruined because of her actions, Julie wishes and hopes that someone from her family will let her know the truth and not try to help her run from it;
“You need a family member like her mom or a mom figure to say, ‘We love you and we support you, but here’s why you were wrong,”You were wrong, you were so wrong.’”
Should be a good exit interview.
Big Brother can be seen on CBS, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
