June is National Adopt-A-Cat Month. In celebration of this special month, we are featuring an adoptable cat each day of June. Today, we interviewed Daphne, an adoptable kitten from Almost Home Foundation
Q: Daphne, I understand you are 7 months old, and that this is your fourth home. Is that correct?
A. Yes, I am 7 months old and I am in my fourth home.
Q. Four different homes? Why?
A. Well, my mama keeps having babies, and her family keeps giving away the babies. As soon as I got to be 8 weeks old, I was given to a family who is a friend of a friend.
Q. And then what happened?
A. Well, they really didn’t want a kitten. They kept me for two months and gave me to their cousin.
Q. And then…?
A. Well, they had me for 2 months, and decided to move. They brought me to a pet store to give me away to anyone who would take me.
Q. Is that how you were rescued by Almost Home Foundation?
A. Yes. I met a really nice lady who brought me to my foster home.
Q. Was it hard on you being moved from place to place?
A. Well, until I met my foster mom, I felt like no one really wanted me
Q. Daphne, do you worry you might end up like your mom, having litter after litter?
A. Oh no! My foster mom took me to the vet right away. She said that she didn’t want to see any more babies having babies.
Q. Do you ever imagine what your forever home will be like?
A. Yes!! I imagine I will have a family that really wants a little kitty, and that they will love me, and pet me, and tell me all the time how special I am.
Daphne, you are a special little kitty. We hope you find your forever home soon.
