June is National Adopt-A-Cat Month. In celebration of this special month, we are featuring an adoptable cat each day of June. Today, we interviewed Boots, an adoptable cat from Almost Home Foundation
Q: Boots, how did you lose your home?
A Mama got sick. She was really sick for a long time, and then she passed away. After she died, the rest of the family did not want me anymore. I was always Mama’s boy.
Q. I am so sorry to hear that.
A. It was a horrible time. I lost the person I loved most in my life, and then I lost my home too. I was lucky that Mama volunteered in animal rescue. I understand now that a lot of people don’t make plans for their pets in case something happens. A lot of pets end up at kill shelters when their owners die.
Q. I have heard the same thing about pets ending up in kill shelters after their owners die. I am glad you are OK.
A. My foster mom is really nice. I like the other cats in my foster home too. Still, I miss my mom.
Q. I bet you do. Boots do you ever imagine your forever home? What would it be like?
A. I imagine that I will find another Mom (or Dad) that would love me like my first Mom did. We would read together, watch TV together, and most importantly, she would not leave me like my first Mom did.
Boots, we hope you find your forever home soon!
