Smith walked one, and struck out four in his complete game effort against the Trojans. He threw 67 pitches/49 strikes.
“I was amazed on Monday when Jesse threw just 21 balls in a complete-game effort, but Kaleb somehow managed to outdo him,”Chevalier said. “18 balls and 67 pitches total in a complete game is just unheard of.”
MDI took a 1-0 lead when Jon Phelps started the bottom of the first with a single. He came around and scored an unearned run.

MDI (9-7) will play Caribou in a preliminary round game on Tuesday.
“We have a lot of respect for MDI’s program and the way they go about their business,”Chevalier said. “They are a classy and well-coached unit, and I wish them well in the playoffs.”
