According to The Hollywood Reporter on May 31, Karen Gillan of the hit TV show, “Doctor Who”, joins Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, David Bautista, and more in James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Gillan was a companion of Doctor Who for several seasons and now will be a companion to all sorts of celebrities in this Marvel film, minus the Tardis.
At this time, it is unknown the role she’ll be playing, but what is revealing is that she’ll be playing the films lead villain. Of course, Thanos was the end tease to “The Avengers”, but The Mad Titan is of a male gender. That being said, fans could wonder what female villain has ever opposed The Guardians.
Glenn Close was also announced recently to portray a leadership role in The Nova Corp earlier this week and shooting is beginning in late June of this summer in the U.K.
Gillan was known as the fifth companion to Doctor Who and had ended the series in its seventh season.
