Something reached out and touched me the instant I first saw Katarina Fabic. Yeah sure she is tall and lithe and beautiful but that describes a lot of women in this town. There was more than the obvious physical attributes that reached out to me. Katarina had an unmistakable aura and dynamic energy if you will. I had no doubt but that she was not only an actress but an accomplished actress and significant player in the entertainment industry and I wanted to meet with her before she became unreachable. So I introduced myself and we chatted a bit. Then we made an appointment for a formal interview.
It turns out my instincts were absolutely spot on. Katarina Fabic is indeed an accomplished actress. See: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1593635/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1. But beyond her substantial IMDB resume she has also done a great deal of stage work, the tell tale mark of a true performing artist. Like most of the ladies and gentlemen who work their way to a position of strength in “Hollywood” or on Broadway perhaps, Katarina got a very early start at only four years young when, after seeing the play “The Midas Touch” she just had to “feel” what it must have been like to actually be King Midas. So she produced her very first show starring herself as King Midas. Costume options for her were somewhat limited so she simply borrowed a comforter which became her robe as King Midas. Her one day show was a smash hit with the friends and family in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
By the time she reached high school she had become inspired by Lauren Bacall and seized the opportunity to attend the Roundhouse Theatre summer Camp in Silver Springs, Maryland. That experience has helped to shape the rest of her life. She fell completely in love with acting and all that goes with it.
Katarina Fabic’s first paid role came from her second film audition, a dreaded “cattle call,” which landed her a leading role in “Whiskey Blue.” She just recently wrapped a feature “Job’s Daughter” where she worked with Corey Feldman and other well known talent. Along her path to stardom Katarina Fabic has earned for herself twenty acting credits, five directing credits and one writing credit and these are only her film credits. She is so focused that even in the middle of our interview she took a few minutes to meet briefly with another rapidly emerging “star” in town, multi award winning filmmaker Rick Greenwood. Who knows where that will lead but it will be fun to watch.
Katarina Fabic remains solidly involved in the legitimate theatre. Currently she is in negotiations with an extremely well known local producer with a goal of co-producing an original work of hers. Because talks are still ongoing I am not at liberty to disclose the other Producer but rest assured that will be huge news and it will be reported as soon as possible.
I was totally delighted to have made the acquaintance of Katarina Fabric and I look forward with enthusiasm to watching her continuing growth and success in the entertainment world. Now we can all sit back and someday say of Katrina, “Ah yes, I knew when….”
