While attending a kindergarten graduation ceremony at the Michael R. White Elementary School on Cleveland’s east side a fight broke out amongst two teenagers allegedly over spilled fruit punch. Six other adults became entangled in the kindergarten brawl, following in the arrests of all eight, reportedly for aggravated rioting.
Police were initially called to the kindergarten brawl after an account of gunshots had been called in to 911. Officers arrived to witness the fight in action, however no shots were actually fired. Instead, a hammer and a stick were recovered at the scene. No injuries have been reported.
A spokesperson for the Cleveland elementary school stated the kindergarten brawl occurred outside of the building. After the news of the fight spread concerned parents and caregivers arrived to remove their children from school grounds.
It is a sad day when something like this happens at a celebration for young children finishing kindergarten, marring a momentous occasion. Similar sentiments were heard around the school campus.
