Lindsay Lohan is currently in rehab at the Betty Ford Clinic, but has admitted that she believes her rehab stay is pointless, denying that she has any form of an addiction problem according to the NY Daily News reports posted on Sunday, May 5.
Even though Lindsay Lohan has talked openly with Piers Morgan about her drug and alcohol “use” the “Mean Girls” star is adamantly refusing to believe that she has any substance abuse issues at all, and that her time in spent in rehab will be absolutely pointless.
Lohan admitted that she has used cocaine, and actually preferred Ecstasy instead, but only a handful of times, and that the media has greatly over exaggerated her drug use.
Morgan, the CNN anchor, known for his forward interviewing style, continuously grilled Lohan, 26, on every subject including her family life to her sexual orientation, but, most the most important subject touched on was about Lindsay Lohan’s substance abuse issues.
“I’ve never been a junkie,” Lindsay Lohan stated to Morgan.
“After 250 days in rehab, another trip “is pointless,” Lohan says
But it’s not “a bad thing for me to be away with myself for three months,” she says.
Lindsay Lohan’s interview took place just a few days before she was reported to have been checked in to her court ordered rehab stint.
Lohan also reveals that she’s never been “a huge drinker” and despite rumors, failed drug tests and a drug possession arrest.
Lindsay Lohan doesn’t consider herself to be an alcoholic — “I’ve never woken up in the morning and had a drink” — but “when I was younger, I was definitely going out too much and I was drinking too much.
“I’ve been court-ordered to do it six times,” she said. “I could write the book on rehab. Constantly sending me to rehab is pointless. The first few times I was court-ordered to rehab, it was like a joke, like killing time.”
Lindsay Lohan claims that she is clearly just misunderstood.
“I’ve never been a junkie, and never will be,” she said. “I just like going out late to clubs with friends and listening to music. Always have done. It’s not that unusual for girls of 26!”
When it comes to her family life with her dad, Michael Lohan, Lindsay said,
“He won’t change,” she said. “I just think there comes a point where you just kind of have to accept what it is.
“Whenever I do try to bring him back into my life, he creates chaos for me and uses it to his advantage. He’s been really good and then really crazy my whole life.”
While at the moment Lindsay Lohan is in rehab it continues to appear that she is facing one of her biggest struggles, the one with denial.
Most speculate that as long as Lindsay Lohan continues to deny having any form of substance issues that she is absolutely correct rehab will once again be pointless for the 26-year-old troubled star.
