The new film “The Lone Ranger” starring Johnny Depp and Army Hammer will be premiering at Disney California Adventure on June 22, announced Walt Disney Studios Chariman, Alan Horn.
The event will have a giant red carpet which will run the length of Hollywood Boulevard from Carthay Circle to the Hyperion Theatre. The guest will include the stars of the film and the filmmakers along with the horse who plays “Silver” – the Lone Ranger’s steed.
Guests will line the street on each side of the carpet to watch the stars such as Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter, and creators such as producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski make their way down to the theatre.
The price to attend the event sits at a hefty $1000 a pop with all ticket sales handed over to the American Indian College Fund. That’s not just all proceeds. Disney is funding the event so 100% of sales will go to the American Indian College Fund.
“We’ve had a terrific collaboration with the Native American community throughout the production of Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger,’” said Alan Horn, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. “With the world premiere of this exciting film at hand, we are pleased to commemorate the occasion by supporting the American Indian College Fund.”
Fund President, Cheryl Crazy Bull, stated: “The Fund is pleased to be the beneficiary of this event because our scholarships are an investment in a healthier, more prosperous future for tribal students and their families. We are poised to serve over 20,000 American Indian and Alaska Native students attending the tribal colleges across this country. Currently our scholarships serve less than 21% of those students so we appreciate any opportunity to bring resources into our scholarship program.”

If you don’t have a grand laying around for this, Time Warner Cable, a title sponsor of the premiere event, will be streaming the event LIVE from Disney California Adventure Park.
“The Lone Ranger” opens in theaters July 3, 2013.
