NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 30, 2013 – Award-winning Country group Lonestar will be bringing their superstar legacy and greatest hits to the summer stage on Fox & Friends’ concert series on Friday (May 31). After a five-year hiatus, lead singer Richie McDonald rejoined the band last year to launch a reunion tour of sorts, as well as their upcoming album Life As We Know It, out June 4. Most known for their smash hits “Amazed” and “I’m Already There,” the band will also discuss their twenty year anniversary and what the future holds. The performance and interview will air throughout the 6-9 a.m. ET broadcast.
“Five years has come and gone since I left Lonestar,” McDonald told Billboard in 2011 of the reunion. “We’ve all tried other avenues and the fact remains that some things were just meant to be. With the Lonestar 20 year reunion approaching, Dean, Michael, Keech and I got together and have decided we have some unfinished business to take care of. I miss those crazy nights running around on stage making music with my band of brothers.
He added, “Looking forward to a new chapter in the book of Lonestar and reliving some old memories and also making some new ones for the fans that have been loyal to us through thick and thin.”
Band member Dean Sams chimed in, “The music we’ve created over the years, along with all of the fans we have made along the way, is something we have never taken for granted,” he says. “We have so much more music to offer the country music fans, and truly feel they want us back on the radio and out on the road performing live for them. After a lot of soul searching and long conversations between all of us involved, we are energized and excited to be writing and recording new music together again!”
Next week, the group will make several public appearances at the annual CMA Music Festival in Nashville, including an acoustic set at the 6th annual GAC Kick-off Breakfast at the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum. Later that day, they will hold their usual Lonestar Nation Fan Club Party at 3rd & Lindsley, which includes a lunch, mini-acoustic concert, door prizes, surprise souvenir and meet and greet. On Thursday (June 6), Lonestar will participate in an autograph singing for fans at the newly built Music City Center from 3-5 pm CT, and lastly, the group will close out the album release week with a performance on the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage Sunday, June 9 at 3:25pm CT.
