If you’re looking for something to do while visiting the Sonoma County Wine County, you couldn’t do better than to take in one of the “After Work Concerts,”
sponsored by Radio Station KJZY
This summer long series of concert are designed to accommodate working people’s schedules. Hosted by KJZY’s Rob Singleton, they bring together the community for enjoyable evenings of good music, fine wine and delectable food. The free concerts are held monthly on Thursday evenings at various wineries throughout county. In addition to the music, wine and food, there are door prizes for CDs and upcoming concerts.
This past Thursday’s concert was held at St. Francis winery in the beautiful Valley of the Moon. St. Francis is a totally green winery, one of the first, and was the first winery in California to use Merlot as a varietal instead of a blending grape.
Thursday’s entertainment, and boy was it entertaining, was provided by the Poyntless Sistars Rockin’ Show Band. To say they rock is the understatement of the year. These ladies don’t just “ROCK!” They kick ass! If
you’re looking for great music, great music to dance to and just plain fun, well … you’ve found with these four ladies. Fine singers, excellent musicians and dynamic performers all, it is more than obvious that they LOVE what they do, and you’ll love it too. What’s their music, their show like? Well, let’s just say Motown meets the Wine Country. Most important – these talented ladies provide an evening of just plain FUN.
Thanks again to Rob Singleton and KJZY for bringing us all together in yet another evening of high entertainment, excellent wine, good food and comfortable camaraderie.
The community is looking forward to the next After Work Concert on June 20th at John Ash & Company when the entertainment will be provided by “The Collaboration Jazz Band.”
