If you have ever dreamed of dining among the Los Angeles elite at pricey eateries completely out of your budget, then you’ll be happy to know that dineLA Restaurant Week is your ticket into LA’s most exclusive restaurants at a fraction of their usual costs. This event allows Angeleno’s to rub elbows while celebrating the best of Los Angeles’ diverse and supreme cuisine scene.
From budget-friendly chain establishments to world-renowned bistros, over 300 restaurants will be participating in this twelve day event, from July 15 to July 26, ensuring there is something for every person, every wallet, and every palate. All prix fixe menus range between $15 to $25 for lunch, and $35 to $45 for dinner, rendering every restaurant on the list perfect for any Angeleno’s big night on the town.
To satisfy your inner carnivore, head over to Ruth’s Chris Steak House, 224 S. Beverly Dr., Beverly Hills, and sample their prix fixe menu, which features its signature 12oz. Ribeye steak—served still sizzling in the house’s famous salted butter-parsley marinade—among its entrée choices.
Pair the steak, filet and lobster, or halibut with a choice of starters and sides, and finish it off with the decadent dessert pairing: a warm chocolate-walnut cookie laid atop rhubarb compote, beside a miniature cheesecake crème brûlée. Be careful with your hands: brave waiters serve Ruth’s Chris steaks on plates that reach temperatures of nearly 600˚F!
Cicada Restaurant, 617 S. Olive St., Los Angeles, welcomes those who are eager to take a trip in time back to Hollywood’s Golden Age. Located in Downtown’s historic Oviatt building, this Art Deco masterpiece is a sight to behold, and the Northern Italian dinner menu is just as impressive as the view.
Cicada serves up hearty dishes, such as the tangy and tender braised short ribs, and lighter fare, like the Portobello mushroom and asparagus ravioli. Four classic salads and soup and exotic crab-stuffed tiger shrimp round out the appetizers. From the four dessert options, many gravitate toward the chocolate molten cake, which is exactly as delicious as you’d think it would be.
