On Monday, May 20, just days before this weekend’s Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) 2013 Annual Convention — Liberty Rising, the LPF unveiled a new map of the Sunshine State that attempts to equalize the size of the districts in terms of physical and population size.
As a result, the regions are now numbered north to south, and the number of regions has increased from 11 to 14 to enlarge the size of the LPF EC (Executive Committee).
Here in Tampa Bay: Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties are finally united (along with Hernando County) into Region 8. Previously, Hillsborough had resided in Region 2, whereas Pinellas was placed in Region 9.

Current LPF Chairman Adrian Wyllie had the following to say about the changes to the map and regions, which will take effect at the conclusion of this weekend’s convention:
I move that the Libertarian Party of Florida create new a new regional structure, expanding the number of regions and regional representatives from 11 to 14, with an emphasis on traditional geographical affinity and ease of travel within regions.
Breaking down the 14 regions by the counties included within
Region 1: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties.
Region 2: Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Liberty and Franklin Counties.
Region 3: Gadsden, Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Madison and Taylor Counties.
Region 4: Hamilton, Suwanee, Lafayette, Dixie, Gilchrist, Columbia, Union, Bradford, and Alachua Counties.
Region 5: Baker, Nassau, Duval, Clay, and St. John’s Counties.
Region 6: Levy, Marion, Citrus, Sumter, and Lake Counties.
Region 7: Putnam, Flagler, and Volusia Counties.
Region 8: Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.
Region 9: Polk, Osceola, Orange, Seminole and Brevard Counties.
Region 10: Manatee, Sarasota, Hardee, De Soto and Highlands Counties.
Region 11: Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee, and Glades Counties.
Region 12: Charlotte, Lee and Collier Counties.
Region 13: Hendry, Palm Beach and Broward Counties.
Region 14: Monroe and Miami-Dade Counties.
