The reunion show didn’t disappoint. There was some side eye, verbal venom and shady digs thrown around immediately from the introductions Mariah gave of each woman on the show.
Kari is the first to be placed in the hot seat. She’s accused of being a snobby elitist. It’s hard to argue with that description every time she opens her mouth she clearly makes a distinction between her “pure lady” behavior in comparison to the savages she’s shares the stage with. Quad holds up a plaque with the word ‘fraud’ to describe Kari’s real character.
Quadriyyah Monique Webb aka Quad held her own against the ladies. Her mugshot was revealed at the end of the season, which she explained it was a domestic dispute with her husband. Both were arrested at the time. Not to be outdone, Quad swung back with a copy of Toya’s DUI record. Toya tried to discredit it, but she wasn’t very convincing.
Try as he might, Andy tries to get Jackie to comment, but she follows the “silent is golden” rule. Andy refused to give up and tries pulling teeth with her throughout the show. Dr. Jackie isn’t easily swayed. Is it a good thing that Jackie doesn’t stoop to their level or is she misplaced being on a reality show of this caliber?
Quad holds up another plaque with the word ‘delusional’ when Toya receives her round of questions. Toya put Quad’s business out there but doesn’t think hers should be presented? Seems a bit hypocritical.
The most revealing was when the ladies shared their upbringings. Quad, Mariah and Dr. Simone are from Tennessee. Dr. Simone grew up in a single parent home. Her father is an alcoholic and she is currently estranged from him. She embraces the irony of having a drunken father and her own love of vodka. Toya shared early on she was from the hood of Detroit. Mariah takes credit for shaping her in the medical community.
We also discover that Phaedra from the Atlanta Housewives used to date Quad’s husband. And Mariah’s first name is Lakeisha but she chooses to go by her middle name, which is her grandmother’s name. Maybe Lakeisha is too ghetto for her. She shut Andy down quick when he wanted to call her by her first name.
The ladies tried to act dignified until the fight was brought up. Toya refuses to take credit for her part in mentioning Mariah’s family secret that her husband didn’t father the first child. Who threw the first punch? Toya said Mariah did, but Mariah felt it was justified when a glass was thrown at her. Dr. Simone is the only one who shed tears over the implication that she chose Toya’s side over Mariah, which she vehemently denies.
In good ol’ Andy fashion he closes out the show bringing out a surprise guest – Miss Lucy, Mariah’s mama. She is the one accused of creating the drama between Mariah and Toya. Everyone will have to wait until next week to see what she has to say.
