On June 26, 2013, the Daily Telegraph in Australia reported that Miley Cyrus cancelled her scheduled appearance as a guest mentor on “The X Factor” Australia, citing “illness” as the reason for the cancellation. Meanwhile, “The X Factor” Australia announced on its official Facebook page on June 25, 2013 that “The X Factor” Australia judge Dannii Minogue is paired with her older sister Kylie Minogue, who was the guest mentor who helped Dannii evaluate contestants on the show this year during the “judges’ houses” phase of the competition.
According to Digital Spy, the Minogue sisters filmed their “judges’ houses” segments in New York City, where Kylie is recording her next album. When the episode airs on Australia’s Channel 7 in September 2013, it will be first time in 26 years that the Kylie and Dannii Minogue will appear on the same Australian TV show at the same time.
Kylie commented to Digital Spy about working with Dannii on “The X Factor” Australia: “Dannii is so good at this, I’m just along for the ride. It’s really fun to do something together, so it was a done deal when she asked me. “This feels normal for us. This kind of show is one of Dannii’s natural habitats, but I do feel at home on a TV set and being with my sister … We’re both comfortable in this environment.”
In 2013, Dannii Minogue replaced Melanie Brown (also known as Mel B) on “The X Factor” Australia. The other “X Factor” Australia judges in 2013 are Ronan Keating, Redfoo of LMFAO (who replaced Guy Sebastian), and Natalie Bassingthwaighte. It has not been announced yet which guest mentors are paired with Keating, Redfoo and Bassingthwaighte.*
In 2012, the guest mentors on “The X Factor” Australia were One Direction, Alicia Keys, Usher, and Ke$ha.
Cyrus tweeted on on June 25, 2013: “In so much pain. I hate being sick. My neck f…ing hurtttttts. Can’t move my neck. Can’t breathe. Cant barely speak. Coughing like a MF. WTF?!?! I gotta stop working myself up though.”
On June 24, 2013, Cyrus added: “Sick in bed. Neck, belly , throat, head … It all hurts.”
Miley Cyrus’s “illness” isn’t the only problem she’s been having recently. In June 2013, her parents (Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus) announced that they are getting divorced. Miley has been tweeting angry messages to her father but the messages have since been deleted. She has also been dogged by rumors that she and her fiancé, actor Liam Hemsworth, have split or are about to break up. Miley has repeatedly denied these rumors.
*UPDATE: Former “X Factor” Australia judge Sebastian was the guest mentor who assisted Bassingthwaighte on Makepeace Island; Will.i.am assisted Refoo in London; and Kelly Osbourne assisted Keating in Los Angeles.
