Well, that little tidbit Miley Cyrus shared a week ago about being No. 1 on the Maxim “Hot 100” list of the sexiest women in the world wasn’t a prank. Although she might have let the cat out of the bag (“leaked” the information, as it were), at least she wasn’t punking us. The magazine announced its full list Friday (May 10) and, as Access Hollywood (via Yahoo TV) was quick to point out, not only was the former “Hannah Montana” star No. 1, she had plenty of Disney alums for company, especially in the list’s Top 10.
In fact, the Maxim “Hot 100” list of the world’s sexiest women, as voted on by Maxim’s readers, held five former Disney stars, all in the Top 30 and four in the Top 10, including the top two spots. Not only did Miley Cyrus score 2013’s No. 1 slot, but Selena Gomez (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) placed second.
Perhaps the most overexposed celebrity in the world slipped into third place — Rihanna. FHM’s “Sexiest Woman in the World” for 2013, not to mention Esquire’s “Sexiest Woman Alive” for 2012, Mila Kunis, held the fourth position. Oscar winner and AskMen’s “Top 99 Most Desirable Women” for 2013, actress Jennifer Lawrence, took the No. 5 spot. Jennifer Love Hewitt, who just won AskMen’s “Sexiest Cover Girl of All Time,” pulled down the sixth position.
Ashley Tisdale (“The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”) was the third highest-placing Disney alum in the list. Then the woman named Vogue’s “Hottest Supermodel on Earth,” Kate Upton, checked in. Disney’s fourth alumnus, Vanessa Hudgens (“High School Musical” franchise) represented from the ninth slot. Perennial Maxim “Hot 100” listee Elisha Cuthbert (she’s made the list ten times, reaching No. 6 in 2008) rounded out the Top 10.
The fifth former Disney star, Demi Lovato (“Sonny With A Chance”), checked in at No. 26.
If nothing else, it certainly looks as if Disney can certainly see the potential for star power in the talent they choose for their shows.
And Miley Cyrus isn’t the first former Disney star to top the Maxim “Hot 100,” either. Christina Aguilera (“The Mickey Mouse Club”) took the No. 1 spot in 2003 and Lindsay Lohan (“The Parent Trap,” “Freaky Friday”) reigned supreme in 2007.
Miley took to Twitter a week ahead of the reveal to thank her fans. “Didn’t know this was coming out yet! I’m so happy to be #1 on Maxims HOT 100! #myfanskickass #dreamsdocometrue,” she tweeted.
And you have to hand it to the 20-year-old singer/actress. The second hashtag in her tweet was undoubtedly a cheeky nod to her former employers, whose slogan is “Where Dreams Come True.”
