On July 25, 2013, MTV announced at a Television Critics Press Association event in Beverly Hills, Calif., that it Miley Cryus is starring in a one-hour documentary that will premiere in the fall of 2013, according to Deadline. The documentary’s title and premiere date are to be announced.
Cyrus has been keeping tabloids busy with stories about her wild partying, her radical image makeover, her Twitter rants against her father, and rumors about the status of her engagement to actor Liam Hemsworth. It remains to be see how much of all this drama will end up in the MTV documentary about Cyrus, but MTV claims that the documentary will cover the transformation that Cyrus has gone through in the past year, as well as the making of her next album.
Former Disney Channel star Cyrus has gone from having an image of being a wholesome, “girl next door” to an edgy partier. In keeping with her edgier image, Cyrus posed completely naked (but she covers up her crotch with her hands) for fashion designer Marc Jacobs’ “Protect The Skin You’re In” campaign, which raises money for the New York University Skin Cancer Institute. In photos for the campaign, the words “Protect The Skin You’re In” cover up Cyrus’ naked breasts.
In other news about Cyrus, she cancelled an appearance for the German newspaper Bild on July 25, 2013. She cited being sick as the reason for the cancellation. Earlier this month, Cyrus cancelled an appearance as a guest mentor on “The X Factor” Australia for the same reason.
She tweeted on July 25, 2013: “Sick in bed… Away from home. Music is the best medicine… Sorry 2 Bild and all my fans for not being able to make it today! Somethings (sic) are outta my control. I’m really sick thanks for understanding… And I apologize in advance to any reporters I may puke on or get sick. No rest for the wicked.”
Cyrus has apparently ended her Twitter feud with her father, ever since her parents (Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus) announced in July 2013 that they were calling off their divorce. The spouses (who have been married since 1993 and have three kids together) first went through divorce proceedings in October 2010, but they reconciled by March 2011.
In June 2013, Tish filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” but the couple announced that they were staying together after getting intensive marriage counseling. During the period of the second divorce proceedings, Cyrus tweeted angry messages at her father, with threats that she would expose “the truth” unless he answered her messages.
