The fourth episode of “Whodunnit?” aired tonight in the US, and the team had to investigate Don’s murder. Alliances were tested and, by the beginning of the next day, Rue Manor was left with only eight contestants to vie for the $250,000 prize.
The contestants were given the chance to review three locations: the scene of the crime, the morgue, and, new to this episode, the suspect. Ronnie, Dana, Lindsey, and Kam elected to visit the crime scene. Melina, Sasha, and Ulysses visited the morgue. Cris and Geno were the only two contestants who chose to review the suspect, the mountain lion, itself.
Between the three locations, viewers learned the following:
- There was a tag on the lion and it was found with a piece of meat in its mouth.
- Don’s face and hands were pink which suggested, to some of the players, an allergic reaction. They also found bloody paw prints on his back and white powder on his shirt.
- There was not a lot of blood at the crime scene which indicated Don was not killed by the mountain lion.
- A pressure mat in front of the stove activated the door that opened to allow the mountain lion into the kitchen.
There was a lot of disagreement between the contestants this week about whether or not Lindsey could be trusted. She managed to make it through the episode unscathed even though a plan to “ice her out of the house” was hatched and the other contestants attempted to put her squarely on the Killer’s hit list. She became invaluable to her alliance when she and Cris overheard Ronnie’s alliance discussing evidence and took the information back to their team.
The winner of this week’s riddle was Geno. He was given the answer of how Don was really killed in the kitchen.
The contestants were taken, one at a time, to deliver their version of the events leading to Don’s death. They then went to the dining room where Giles revealed the real details of Don’s death. When Don went to the kitchen to prepare his steak, he stepped on the pressure pad which allowed the mountain lion into the room. He then turned the stove on. The Killer had rigged the stove to release cyanide gas which caused Don to have a reaction and made him fall to the ground. The mountain lion swooped in and attacked Don, grabbed the piece of meat from the stove top, and was then tranquilized by Giles.
Giles then moved to hand out the usual “spared” or “scared” cards. Before he could begin, however, his cell phone rang. The Killer was on the line. All of the contestants voices were heard, one by one, announcing that they were the Killer. Further, Lindsey’s voice added that the only way they could avoid death was to be at the stables in the morning. Giles then handed out the cards. Dana won immunity this round. Ulysses and Kam were both in the Killer’s sights.
The next morning the contestants all rode on horse back to the stables. A flock of birds flew out of the brush and spooked the horses. When Ulysses was seen entering the clearing, he was slumped on his horse. His horse spooked, reared up, and Ulysses and the horse fell to the ground. The stage was set for the next episode.
So what did you guys think of this episode? Were you surprised that both Ulysses and Kam, both strong players, were in the Killer’s cross hairs this episode? Do you think Lindsey can be trusted? If you were playing the game, who would you ally with and why? Who do you think is the Killer?
