Welcome back…to me…yes seriously.
I am excited to be back living, writing and drinking in Beantown! After a short stint in NYC, and a long move back, I celebrated my own return with a trip to L’espalier’s Monday Night Wine Dinner. The week I attended was for Oregon Wine, and I was super excited to check out the offerings, and especially the Pinot!
The Pinot Gris in the first course was a bit too acidic for me, especially with a berry salad. Though the salad was amazing, I especially loved the melon sorbet – so inventive!
Most surprising was the Chardonnay, which I would never order from Oregon, but this light and smooth variety hit the mark with the halibut. Delicious.
Third course was my beloved Pinot, and I drank it down with the lovely poultry dish. Smooth, sweet, spicy and delicious.
Finally, the Syrah was a lovely ending with the Gouda cheese plate.
What an amazing way to get back in the game! Better yet, there is more to come. Here are a few things I am looking forward to in Boston:
- Oysters and Muscadet
- Wine Riot
- Nantucket Wine Festival
- Newport Wine Festival
- Boston Wine Expo
- Malbec World Day (we gotta get it here)
- and more…
