Tomorrow, Sept. 21, is National Miniature Golf Day. Celebrate this unique holiday by spending the afternoon hitting the little links. Fans of this scaled-down sport can partake in courses across the state, and with no need for specialized equipment or a honed skill set this activity can be fun for all. So spend this holiday at one of these four top mini golf courses in Colorado.
Adventure Golf and Raceway in Westminster has three 18-hole outdoor courses: Buccaneer Bay, Adventure Cove and The Lost Continent, all with well maintained greens as well as water features and fiery special effects. Adventure Golf and Raceway has been a favorite mini-golf course in Colorado since 1989.
Colorado Journey in Littleton is more renowned for its well kept grounds than fancy effects. Its themes are Colorado based including Eisenhower Tunnel, Royal Gorge and Garden of the Gods. An afternoon on these links is like taking a mini tour of Colorado.
Putters Pride in Lakewood has a more traditional style on its three 18-hole courses. A round on these links is a throwback to my childhood with windmills and a fantastically low $10 all you can play price tag.
At the 8-acre Boondocks Family Fun Center in Northglenn visitors can play a round of mini golf between laps in a go-kart or matches of laser tag. The two 18-hole courses at Boondocks feature waterfalls, suspension bridges and greens difficult enough to challenge even regular golfers.
