The National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) – a private, nonprofit agency committed to serving vulnerable children, youth, and families – invites you to its 11th Annual Art & Soul Charity Auction on Friday, June 7 at 7 pm in Downtown Silver Spring!
Host JC Hayward of WUSA9 News, Chair Jeffrey Slavin has put together a remarkable evening showcasing an art live auction by local DMV artists and students of the NCCF (teens from the Greentree Adolescent Program), local culinary treats and gathering of minds alike at the Spring Civic Building in Downtown Silver Spring. A portion of the proceeds from art sales and auction is to benefit NCCF and the 4,000 children, youth, and families served in the National Capital Area each year.
This diverse program will kick-off with Harambee, a Kenyan ceremony of cheers and chants, performed by NCCF’s Saturday School Scholars from the J.C. Nalle Community School in Southeast DC. Throughout the evening, guests can mix and mingle to the sounds of local musicians Kara Falck (a former NCCF social worker!) and Stone Kawala while enjoying hors d’oeuvres from Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Olazzo, Mamma Lucia, Mrs. K’s Tollhouse. Signature “Gifts from the Soul” silent auction items (like Roling Stones guitar, an 11×14 signed photograph of Justin Bieber or premium tickets for two to any MLB, NHL) will be available for bidding.
Over a decade this auction has brought together the very many kind souls able to support and contribute to the mission of NCCF and help, directly or indirectly, hundreds of children in need. NCCF has been a true supporter of local DMV artists who donate their artwork for the benefit of others.
Tickets ($75) can be purchased at here. For more information, contact Director of Communications Cindy Rich at 301-365-4480 ext. 109
