The new temporary exhibit called “No Ordinary Place” opens at the University of Arizona Museum of Art on Friday, May 31, 2013. The exhibit features four different artists whose works explore connections to each other and out surroundings. The exhibit is expected to remain on display through Sunday, September 8, 2013.
“No Ordinary Place” features works of art by Colin Chillag, Carrie Marill, Matthew Moore, and Kevin Cyr. Colin Chillag’s paintings feature aspects of the paint palette, sketches, and notes used in creating the paintings. Carrie Marill’s art features plants discovered in an online Japanese architectural book. Matthew Moore focuses on the production of food, healthy living, and community building. Kevin Cyr’s art focuses on home being a mobile one.
About the University of Arizona Museum of Art: The museum is located on the U of A campus near Park Ave and Speedway Blvd. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults. Children, active military, museum members, American Association of Museums members, and U of A students, faculty, and staff get in free with proper ID.
