One of the three kidnapped women rescued from Cleveland’s “House of Horrors” is Michelle Knight. Unlike the other two women, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus who have been reunited with their families, Knight has not yet been reunited with her mother Barbara.
While no official word has been released regarding why Michelle Knight hadn’t seen her mother yet, it is believed to be Knight’s choice. Adding to the nightmare Knight is trying to come to grips with, her mother’s attorney, Jay Milano lashed out about the situation which has some questioning why Knight might not want to see her mom.
Milano stated that, “She (Barbara) went to the hospital and tried to deliver flowers to her daughter and was told that her daughter’s not keeping visitors.” He went on to allege that the Cleveland hospital “stone walled” him as to where Michelle was.
Michelle Knight was the one who was held in captivity the longest and suffered severe emotional, physical and sexual abuse. She was not released from the hospital until Friday afternoon and at that time the hospital released a statement in which they revealed Knight’s location was unknown.
Milano went on to add, “I talked to the lawyer for the hospital who told me, ‘I don’t know if she’s here. I’ll get back to you, Jay.” According to Jay Milano, Michelle Knight isn’t the only one who has been in incredible pain.
He stated that her mother, Barbara has suffered with the loss of her daughter. According to ABC, Milano said, “It was hell for her too.”
ABC reported that Milano said, “Barbara came up here to be with her daughter, to help her daughter, to hug her daughter, to help her heal and she’s been stonewalled right down the line. It’s abhorrent.”
In a television interview, Barbara said, “It’s irritating because I don’t know what’s going on, why they’re hiding her from me.”
By all accounts, no one is hiding Michelle Knight. It has been her choice to keep her distance from her mother and grandmother. After a rough life, her family believed she ran away at the time of her abduction.
As a result of that belief, unlike the families of DeJesus and Berry, there were no news casts, not pleas for Knight’s return when she was abducted.
