A nurse admits murdering 11 after he deliberately set a nursing home facility on fire in Sydney, Australia. 37-year-old Roger Dean entered 11 guilty pleas of murder during his first day in Supreme Court, Hindustan Times reports May 27.
Dean also entered eight guilty pleas for doing bodily harm to elderly patients who had dementia or were blind.
The blaze killed 11 of the residents when it occurred in 2011. Fire extinguishers and emergency exits were in the building, but it lacked having a sprinkler system.
Dean’s sentencing is pending.
