We are between Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer in the fashion world and that can only mean one thing. It has been a week of Resort 2014 with some of the most influential designers unveiling collections with a fresh appeal and some of the magic that makes summer a season of traveling in chic outfits that symbolize the perfection of Resort 2014.
One leading designer who has a royal following is Oscar de la Renta. He has mastered style in magnificent ways over the years. Never underestimate the power of his creativity and passion for design. During his tenure, he has been inducted into the Coty Hall of Fame, served as President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and been awarded the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award. This coming Monday, June 3, 2013, the designer will be adding another honor to his achievements as he attends the highly publicized 2013 CFDA Fashion Awards and is presented with the Founder’s Award in Honor of Eleanor Lambert.
Attendees of the special upcoming event will certainly be talking about his latest Resort 2014 collection that caught the interested eye of editors as de la Renta showcased pieces in his showroom on May 21, 2013. From casual and career daywear to formal eveningwear, this collection promises to sweep you off your feet. It began with plaids in short jackets, ankle length pants, dresses gathered at the waist and draping downwards, floral pencil skirts with full tops and a lovely light pink 60’s style tweed suit, cream lace shirt and ivory lattice booties. The peplum shirt played out big and a gorgeous black and white peplum dress was accessorized by large red beads. The 60’s seemed to serve as inspiration for a good deal of the fashions. An ivory pleated skirt paired with a black and white lace applique’ top was smart-looking and exhibited the true finesse of the detail-oriented designer.
The eveningwear took it up a notch with some of the most exquisite gowns to grace the season. Full-length gowns with beading and embroidery, silhouettes of tiny flowers, deep hues in blue, burnt orange, lime green, red and pure pink, tulle and an exaggerated bow highlighted this part of the collection. Sheer black lace dresses, one paired with red shoes, were all stand-out creations for the formal affair where you dare to impress. A strapless peplum top and floor-length skirt hugging the shape of the body make for a superb combination.
The beauty of a woman is even more noticeable when she wears an Oscar de la Renta creation. This Resort 2014 Collection gave us plenty to admire and dream about. It is another collection that Oscar de la Renta put his heart and soul into producing and will gain him widespread praise.
