Bejing-The baby 6 pound, two ounce baby boy lodged below the floor boards of a public restroom in the pipes, named baby number 59 by the hospital who received the rescued child, was born twice in its short lifetime. Once born to a mother who for whatever reason was willing to receive her new born child with open loving arms, and twice delivered from the plastic sewer pipe, to the arms of the rescuing emergency firemen and doctors who delicately delivered the crying infant.
A second chance
It was meant to be, there’s no denying it the little cherub was born to be alive, and meant to be here. Escaping the horrifying L-shaped pipe rescue of two-hours with only srcapes and bruises, baby 59 still had his placenta attached, pinned in a raw sewage pipe and crying for who knows how long with his arms against his sides.
Suspected fractured skull
The outpouring from the public in the province of Zhejiang in eastern China, and around the world the abandoned No. 59 could not be more shrouded in love. Pure strangers have sent or brought in baby diapers, milk, clothing, blankets and adoption offers have flooded the hospital and fire rescue department.
Police reveal the baby’s mother a 27-year-old
Fancy but disturbing foot work led China police to the mother who was shortly reunited with Baby 59 at the hospital. According to reports, the mother panicked after giving birth unexpectedly. After suffering guilt for the stuck baby and “weird noises” she phoned her landlord. The landlord called the police after spotting the newborn in the pipe.
It’s a shocking story
The mother still has charges of murder to face. An unexpected birth maybe, and unplanned pregnancy in a country which only allows one-child couples due to the population explosion, it’s not uncommon to see abandoned babies in rivers and the trash. It’s a cruel law, and the authorities need to find a more ethical way to handle their situation because the tragic death of large numbers of infants is an atrocity.
The main issue in China the “baby issue” is not allowed to be publicized in any way
Turning their heads to what their public is living with every day, isn’t making the countries problem go away, what the government isn’t willing to face, is being put in their hands bluntly. The new law went into effect in 1979, according to China-statistics it has prevented 400 billion births. Back stree abortions, and babies who are disposed of are not involved in that number.
One child or else
Exceptions are made for twins, and foreign parents who were only children. Birth a second child and crippling fines are the result. Parents who marry late and have children receive more benefits. Discrimination of baby girls is prohibited.
