In an effort to save their marriage, Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne have moved back in together at their home in Buckinghamshire, England, while he is on a break from Black Sabbath’s world tour. The news was reported by the Mirror’s Sunday People in an article dated May 19, 2013.
And according to The Sun: “Assistants have been spotted moving clothes and boxes from the Black Sabbath singer’s rented Beverly Hills pad into Sharon’s mansion nearby.” The Sun published a recent paparazzi photo of Sharon wearing her wedding ring, which she had stopped wearing when she and Ozzy were living in separate houses.
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have been married since 1982. Sharon has been Ozzy’s manager since 1979, after he was fired from Black Sabbath. He has reunited with Black Sabbath several times.
In April 2013, tabloid reports surfaced that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne were living apart and were no longer wearing their wedding rings. It led to speculation that Ozzy and Sharon were getting divorced, but they both made separate statements denying the divorce rumors.
However, they did admit to having serious problems in their marriage. In response to the divorce rumors, Ozzy (who is a recovering drug addict/alcoholic) confessed on his official Facebook page that he had a drug/alcohol relapse from late 2011 to early 2013, but that he and Sharon were not getting divorced. He also made a public apology for how he behaved during his relapse and said he was working on staying clean and sober.
Sharon said on “The Talk” that she was “devastated” by Ozzy’s relapse but insisted that they weren’t getting divorced.
Although it hasn’t been officially announced yet, Sharon is returning to “The X Factor” U.K. as a judge in 2013. The official announcement should be made sometime in May 2013.
Sharon Osbourne is reportedly replacing Tulisa Contostavlos. It’s a change to “The X Factor” U.K. that British tabloids such as The Sun and the Daily Mirror have been reporting for months, ever since Sharon tweeted in August 2012 that she wanted to go back to being a judge on the show. Sharon was a judge on ITV’s “The X Factor” U.K. from 2004 to 2007, and she was a judge on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” from 2007 to 2012.
“The X Factor” executive producer Simon Cowell confirmed in an April 2013 interview with Radio Times that Contostavlos is no longer an “X Factor” judge and that the show has decided who will replace her, but he wouldn’t say who the replacement is. Sharon Osbourne and representatives for “The X Factor” U.K. haven’t commented yet either.
The Daily Mirror reported that Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh will continue to be judges on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2013. Scherzinger became a judge on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2012. Barlow joined the show in 2011. Walsh has been with “The X Factor” U.K. since its 2004 debut.
Sharon Osbourne’s return to “The X Factor” U.K. means that she might be quitting the Los Angeles-based CBS chat show “The Talk,” which is filmed on weekdays. Sharon has been co-hosting “The Talk” since its 2010 debut.
Sharon and Ozzy have three children together: Aimee, Kelly and Jack. Ozzy has three other kids (Elliot, Jessica and Louis) from his first marriage to ex-wife Thelma.
Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly were the stars of the Emmy-winning MTV reality show “The Osbournes,” which was on the air from 2002 to 2005.
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have been very candid in interviews and in their respective tell-all memoirs about discussing their previous marital problems, including their drug/alcohol addictions and violent fights with each other. Sharon said that she and Ozzy would often beat each other up during their worst fights. In 1989, their marriage almost ended after Ozzy was arrested for strangling Sharon. The charges were eventually dropped after Ozzy agreed to go to rehab.
Their marriage has also endured other health problems: In 2003, Ozzy was seriously injured in an ATV accident. He was diagnosed with early stages of Parkinson’s disease in 2005. Sharon, a survivor of colon cancer, revealed in 2012 that she had a double mastectomy in order to prevent getting breast cancer. Osbourne told Hello! magazine that she chose to have this major surgery after she found out that she has a gene that increases her risk of getting breast cancer. Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack have all spent time in rehab for addiction issues at various points in their lives.
Ozzy and Sharon will be spending a lot of time apart from each other in 2013 for work-related reasons. Ozzy is doing a Black Sabbath reunion tour that will be going to several countries, while Sharon will be busy for the rest of 2013 being a judge on “The X Factor” U.K.
May 20, 2013 update: Yahoo’s OMG! blog reports that Ozzy and Sharon “showed a united front at the An Evening With Women gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Saturday [May 18, 2013]. They were openly affectionate on the red carpet – he gave her a kiss, they held hands, and she was seen smoothing hair. Perhaps no one there was more excited to see them stepping out together happily than their daughter Kelly, who stood with them beaming. Inside the benefit, which supported the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, Ozzy performed and Sharon, who was a platinum sponsor of the event, worked the room and hung out with Kelly and her ‘The Talk’ co-host Sara Gilbert.”
