Some movies, like ‘Iron Man 3’, deserve the incredible box-office success they’ve received.
Some movies, like ‘The Lone Ranger’, deserve the cinematic oblivion they’re rapidly-heading for.
Then there’s ‘Pacific Rim’, which deserves success, but is doing poorly.
It’s the “giant robot vs giant monster” movie that any and every kid over 7 should rush to the theatre to see…yet they’re not going!
I can’t explain why. It’s only PG-13, so the flick is “kid-friendly”. It has LOTS of action, and very little “realistic” violence. A little cursing, but nothing kids don’t hear every day. It makes a lot more sense than any of the ‘Transformers’ films!
And it’s fun. No, scratch that. It’s FUN!
Though it hasn’t done well in the US, the movie is making money in other countries, and may even do well enough to warrant a sequel. I sincerely hope so.
It’ll be closing in the next couple of weeks. Please, go see it on the big screen before it’s gone. Seeing it on DVD/BluRay will be entertaining, but this is a movie you should see on a huge theatre screen to really appreciate.
