Paul McCartney and his band said before their July 14 show at Indianapolis’ Bankers Club Fieldhouse they were prepared to have a rockin’ good time. And fans say they did.
Jo Tancey-Butler on our Paul McCartney Out There! 2013 news page on Facebook, wrote, “This was my eighth concert since 2002, never has disappointed. Always amazed at the diversity of fans. Happy to see new songs added. Loved the elevated stage and laser lights.”
“Getting ready to rock Indy!!!!! Look out!!!,” tweeted drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. before the show.
The show featured a musical mix in the three-hour show. These included Beatles songs, like the opener, “Eight Days a Week,” and “Paperback Writer,” “I’ve Just Seen a Face,” “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite,” “All Together Now” and “And I Love Her,” plus songs from his solo career, such as “Another Day,” “Let Me Roll It,” “Hi Hi Hi,” “Here Today” and “Band on the Run.” Sunday show also featured a single song change from Friday’s concert in Washington, D.C. at Nationals Stadium. In the first encore, McCartney substituted “I Saw Her Standing There” for “Get Back.”
The next stop is Tuesday at Milwaukee’s Miller Park.
