For those of you who may not know, Rick Springfield has been my boyfriend since I was 11. Now, whether he has been aware of this fact for the last 33 years remains to be seen. Never-the-less, it is true, he’s been my main squeeze all these years. My husband has always been on board with the whole thing – and even happily goes to the shows with me when Rick comes to town for a visit to see me – and his other 3,000 girlfriends who all stake the same claim over him as I do.
Yes, the heartthrob who has been making girls swoon for the last 35 years still has it – and he’s bringing it to town for us all to enjoy.
For those who may not be as familiar, let me share the highlights… Rick Springfield has recorded 17 Top 40 hits. He has sold over 25 million records and he’s just released his 17th studio album, Songs for the End of the World. Hit songs including; “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers” “Affair of the Heart” and “Love Somebody” rocketed Springfield to the top of the charts beginning in the early eighties and continue to energize the heartthrob rocker’s stage show today. He also played Dr. Noah Drake on TV’s General Hospital in the early 80s and has reprised his role over the years.
He is a dog lover (love that!). Ron, who passed away in 1994 graced several record covers in the early years and now the very handsome Gomer melts hearts as Springfield’s latest dog-love.
And last but not least, this insanely attractive man, still igniting the flame of excitement for women all over the world, will turn 64 years old on Aug 23 this year. OK, when I was 11, my grandpa was 64—and he didn’t look a thing like RS!
As always, I am looking forward to this show for so many reasons, most of them fairly obvious—but also because I love this venue. In my opinion it is one of the best venues to see any concert in town. They consistently bring in A-tier acts, the site lines are great from any seat and the sound system is top notch. Not to mention I can play a few hands of blackjack after the show!
If you are a fan, I’ll see you out at the show and if you are not yet a fan – come see what it’s all about, I guarantee you’ll have a great time!
Showtime is 8 p.m.
