The Real Housewives of New Jersey are back and at it again. Teresa Giudice and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga ended season four with a horrendous fight that resulted in neither one speaking to the other for over a year.
In the season premiere, the estranged family members spoke their first words to each other. However, don’t expect an emotional happy reunion for the two families.
Taking to her Bravo blog published on June 2, Melissa Gorga let it be known that she still hasn’t forgiven her husband’s sister. “If she really wanted to fix it, she would have picked up the phone months ago, way before her sincere heartfelt sadness could be caught on camera.”
“I wasn’t ready to forgive or forget.” Not only did the two women not speak for over a year, but their children were kept apart as well.
Of course, that all changes for the cameras as during the season premiere, Melissa suddenly allowed her daughter Antonia, 7, to have a play date with Teresa’s daughter Milania, 7.
Not trusting Teresa to keep her nasty opinions to herself, Melissa refused to let Antonia go alone. She made sure to accompany her daughter on the play date.
Gorga said, “I don’t want Antonia exposed to lies and insults about her mom by her other relatives. And I knew she would be. As far as parenting goes, I try my hardest not to involve my kids in very mature matters.”
“My kids don’t have the slightest idea what’s going on with the Giudices. They are too young to understand the complicated, ugly situation.”
Of course at the play date, the two feuding women came face to face for the first time in a year. Melissa described the meeting as Teresa putting on a fake façade just because they were filming.
Melissa said, “Why was she pretending to be nice, when she said she didn’t give a sh*t about me? Why was she acting like she suddenly wanted to fix things when she hadn’t lifted a finger in a year?”
“Oh yeah. The cameras were on now. Her sudden change was so weird and confusing, I was thrown by it.”
“There’s a lot more to come, a lot of emotional twists and turns,” Melissa said. “Being part of this family is a long, crazy journey. We’re not even close to hitting rock bottom, but reconciliation is on the way.”
Seriously, these two need to give it up. Destroying their families just to be famous and on television is reprehensible.
