The Dandy Warhols and opening acts Theophilus London, The Gentlemen Rogues and The Sour Notes performed at Stubb’s on July 27 in Austin. It was part of a national 10 city concert series presented by Red Bull entitled Sound Select Presents. The Dandy Warhols held a press and VIP dinner at Stubb’s restaurant before the show and Examiner was fortunate to attend. Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Zia McCabe and Peter Holmstrom were excited to be in Austin and to re-connect with their fans.
“The musician fan relationship is really precious, there’s nothing like it. The fact that Red Bull can make the connection, I’m all for that. It’s a good program. These kids should be excited. I’m excited!” said Theophilus London prior to walking onto the stage. The four bands who performed drew an eclectic crowd of taste makers and music lovers.
To get invited to the Red Bull Sound Select concert, fans had to log on to redbullsoundselect.com, create their profiles and then request the tickets.
