What is it going to take for millions in the African-American community, as well as other minorities in this country, to come to the realization that there are many unscrupulous, politically-motivated, self-aggrandizing, self-seeking, race profiteers, or as Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson referred to them on the Piers Morgan show on Thursday, “race hustlers” and “poverty pimps” who’s mission is to stir up controversy, hatred, distrust, anger, vengeance, and violence in the heart, mind, and soul of the African-American citizen?
When asked by Piers Morgan (the man millions of Americans recently wanted deported for his anti-American, anti-constitutional views) what his thoughts were over the Zimmerman verdict, Rev. Peterson blasted away, wasting no time at all.
“This case was not about race at all. What happened is that you have the race hustlers, the poverty pimps like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and others who turned it into a race issue in order to gain power and wealth. And, you also have Barack Obama jumping into it by saying that if he had a son he would look just like Trayvon Martin. And, I thought that was insane for him to make that type of comment. He only did that because he wants to incite the anger of black Americans and others.”

Despite the insistence by Piers Morgan that this is a “race” issue, the fact is that zero evidence has been presented by anyone that George Zimmerman is a racially-motivated individual. It has already been established that Mr. Zimmerman has interacted positively with members of the African-American community throughout his life, including going to his high school prom with a black female, tutoring black kids as a volunteer, as well as taking the side of a homeless African-American man who had gotten into a squabble with Sanford police. In fact, Zimmerman is a registered Democrat who voted for Barack Obama.
Furthermore, it has already been established that Mr. Zimmerman is not a “White” American hunting down black kids. Zimmerman is part Hispanic. This, however, is something that the mainstream media, and people like Al Sharpton refuse to mention.
During the interview, blatantly ignoring Rev. Peterson’s message, Mr. Morgan went on with his liberal bias, in order to paint a ridiculous hypothetical scenario, which involved Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg walking through that same neighborhood, wearing a hoodie. Morgan then asked Peterson if the result would’ve been the same had Zimmerman seen that the person in the hoodie was a White person.
The Rev. Peterson responded:
“I believe the outcome would’ve been the same. George Zimmerman would’ve done whatever it took to protect himself. It didn’t matter to George Zimmerman the color of the man.”
This brings to mind Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous quote:
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
And, according to Rev. Peterson, Trayvon Martin’s character was the problem, not the color of his skin.
“This notion that Trayvon Martin was some little innocent kid, tip-toeing to the tulips and George Zimmerman had nothing else to do but to go out and kill him is a lie. It’s an absolute lie. I think that for the people to mislead…..that are in control of this issue…to mislead America in that manner are very dishonest people. Trayvon Martin was a thug. His parents know that. You know that. I know that.”
For obvious reasons, Morgan took offense to that and responded by telling Rev. Peterson not to put words in his mouth.
Morgan insisted that there was no evidence to support the notion that Trayvon was a thug. However, the reverend mentioned Trayvon’s Facebook profile, which was conveniently deleted, and which revealed a side of Martin that the liberal media chose to ignore from the beginning. The reverend reminded Morgan that Trayvon had been expelled from school several times, was a known pot smoker, and was seen posing in pictures holding a gun.
One other point the reverend mentioned is that if, in fact, Trayvon’s character was exemplary, why did the prosecution work so hard to exclude that information during the trial. If Trayvon had been a straight-A student, or a member of his church choir, an outstanding citizen of his community, wouldn’t it be helpful to include that during the trial? Yet, Trayvon’s behavior and personal history was conveniently excluded from the trial. As Rev. Peterson mentioned, the reason why this information was excluded was because it would’ve been damaging to the prosecution.
Rev. Peterson’s point in all of this is not that Trayvon Martin’s life didn’t matter. His point was that race-baiters such as Al Sharpton and others, including Barack Hussein Obama, have shamelessly used this young man’s death in order to profit personally, whether it be politically or financially. These type of divisive individuals do not have America’s best interest at heart. They seek only to stir up distrust, anger, vengeance, and hatred, for their own personal gain.
In fact, more than 100 years ago, a fine, African-American, educator, adviser, and author, Booker T. Washington, warned America about these individuals:
“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well.”
“But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.” – Colossians 3:8
