“Rookie Blue” season 4 may be taking a few weeks off for the NBA Finals, but on Thursday, May 30, ABC did air a promo teasing what’s coming up in episode 3, “Different, Not Better.”
Though ABC has not yet released an official episode description or photos from this next “Rookie Blue,” from what we can see in the promo, which you can watch here, it’s going to be more of the same of what we’ve come to expect from the series: 15 Division on the job with some personal drama that somehow connects to the investigation.
In the case of “Different, Not Better,” that personal drama is likely going to come from Andy (Missy Peregrym) and Marlo (Rachael Ancheril), as while Oliver (Matt Gordon) did intercept Andy so she didn’t have to ride along with Sam’s (Ben Bass) new girlfriend in “Homecoming,” he can’t just keep doing that. They both work at 15 Division, and Andy is going to have to learn to work with Marlo. While both are clearly professionals, that doesn’t mean they’re not going to clash, as seen in the preview, and it doesn’t even have to do with the man they have in common. Since both characters clearly have strong personalities, we can’t help but feel like this may have happened even if Sam wasn’t a factor.
As the promo shows, they’ll be tracking down a suspect, a television is going to land on their call, and they’ll be faced with having to make a quick decision when it comes to a child’s safety. Plus, it looks like Sam may be walking over to them at just the wrong moment considering the nature of the conversation between his ex- and current girlfriends. Yes, this looks like quite the tense episode.
“Rookie Blue” season 4 airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC, with episode 3 airing June 27. What do you think of the “Different, Not Better” preview?
