Arrival Experience: Located in a cluster of hotels and business offices, this modern hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shops. Mercedes shuttle vans whisk guests to and from the airport and nearby businesses on a regular schedule. Once inside the lobby, the combination of rustic stone walls and modern lighting make a positive first impression. High ceilings and plentiful lounge seating give the space a welcoming look. Cambria is one of the newer brands in the Choice Hotels portfolio and is designed to provide business-friendly amenities at a value-oriented price. The front desk staff is welcoming and eager to answer any questions about the hotel.
Dining: As in all Cambria locations, a Refresh deli and café is the centerpiece of the lobby. Made-to-order coffees and snacks are always available as is a selection of fresh sandwiches and salads. In the morning, a hot buffet and a variety of Wolfgang Puck coffees are available, and eggs can be made to order. Each evening, a dinner menu is available and includes everything from chicken lollipops with dipping sauces to a variety of sweet desserts. Room service is available, and guests will find the empty refrigerators and microwaves in suites to be a great way to save snacks for later.
Accommodations: Undoubtedly, the strongest suit of the hotel is the all-suite accommodations. Large living areas feature sofa beds, coffeemakers, cushy armchairs, and spacious work desks with plentiful electrical outlets to keep everything fully charged. A plug-in dashboard near the desk allows guests to connect their electronics to the flat-screen TV to channel their own music or programming to a larger screen. The bedroom is further in and features a large closet and a second flat-screen cable TV. Free wireless high speed Internet is available throughout the hotel, and full-length mirrors on the walls are great for that last onceover before heading to a meeting. Small racks to store luggage are great for those who live out of a suitcase rather than unpack everything. Bathrooms are large with Bath & Body Works premium toiletries, stacks of towels, excellent lighting, and a curved shower rod adding square footage in the shower.
Conclusion: Recreation is not forgotten either, and the hotel boasts a modern fitness center and heated indoor swimming pool. During my visit, an unexpected spring snowstorm was bombarding the city, but I certainly would have taken advantage of the outdoor terrace to relax and read if it had been nicer weather. As part of the Choice portfolio, travelers can earn and redeem Choice Privileges points, which is an important benefit for frequent travelers. Housekeeping does an excellent job keeping all corners of the hotel in tip top shape, which is probably a result of the strong management team. That team is led by the general manager who is often seen speaking with guests or working the front desk, a sign that this hotel is in good hands.
