NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 30, 2013 – Newcomer Scotty McCreery is set to present at next week’s upcoming CMT Music Awards, to go live from Bridgestone Arena on June 5. Singer and newly minted Dancing with the Stars winner Kellie Pickler, American Idol judge Keith Urban, Nashville star Charles Esten, Duane “Dog” and Beth Chapman, Florida Georgia Line, Kevin and Michael Bacon, Larry the Cable Guy and Lisa Marie Presley are also on the first wind of presenters.
The show will air on CMT and CMT.com at 8 p.m. EST.
Prior the the big event, “I Hope It Rains” songstress Jana Kramer will host the CMT Music Awards Video of the Year Special, set to premiere on Saturday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m. EST. As part of the one-hour telecast, Kramer will present the nominees for the night’s biggest honor, Video of the Year.
Miranda Lambert leads this year’s nominations for the 2013 CMT Music Awards. Landing four total nods, her rowdy “Mama’s Broken Heart” earned honors in Video of the Year and Female Video. Meanwhile, her folk-rock trio Pistol Annies swooped “Takin’ Pills” into the Group Video category, while her stirring performance of “Over You” at the 2012 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony earned a nod in CMT Performance of the Year.
Joining her as pack leaders are Luke Bryan and Eric Church, followed by Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Florida Georgia Line with three nominations each.
Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Hunter Hayes, Kramer, Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town and Journey all achieved two nods each.
Actress Kristen Bell and Aldean will co-host the live awards show. Performers include Underwood, Swift, Darius Rucker, George Strait, Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum and many more.
Fans will be able to vote for all of the nominees except one through June 2. The big honor of the night, Video of the Year, will be voted on throughout the telecast and the winner announced live.
