In our country today, we have a highly unusual set of circumstances regarding our freedoms. There was once a time when we ask our leaders to defend us from foreign powers, i.e, Germany, Russia, Japan and a few others. That was the original responsibility of the Federal Government, protecting American citizens.
Now we have arrived at yet another place regarding our Federal Government. Yes, there was that time when we needed Uncle Sam for that protection. However, currently in our modern times, our Constitution is under attack, not from a foreign power, but from powers within our own government.
Our Congress and Barack Obama seem to have an idea that they can run roughshod over the citizens of this great country. Can we, or should we allow that to happen and go unanswered? The government of the United States is ordained by God Himself, if you’re a Christian. If you are not a Christian, then you may believe what ever your mind leads you to believe.
It’s all about, keeping our freedoms by fighting for the U.S. Constitution.
Congress now allows opening prayer in sessions that is not Christian prayer, but prayer by people who speak words that are meaningless to Christians. Navy Chaplains have been forbidden to use the words “in Jesus name” when praying at any Christian event, service or burial. All in the name of political correctness.
And recently, on a state issue, the Democrat Speaker of the Pennsylvania House Keith R. McCall has issued (and enforced) a policy which bans the name of Jesus Christ as illegal speech that may not be uttered during voluntary prayers spoken before the Pennsylvania state legislature. He was “afraid” of a lawsuit by atheists.
Why is everyone afraid of the atheists. Where is the Rock that these Christians (say) they stand on. Do they have a voice that can be heard or will they be meek and scatter like mice when the light is turned on. Do they tremble like little children in a thunder storm because of political correctness? Whom do you fear? Your answer should be “no one”, if you trust in the Lord.
Psalm 27:1 – (1) The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
It would seem obvious to anyone who is capable of cognitive thought that there are many in our government who (say) they are Christians, but have probably never read Psalm 27, or at least comprehended it.
Trust in the Lord.
